In singlet sample analysis the sample is just pipetted and analyzed once. In duplicate sample analysis the sample is analyzed twice and the mean, standard deviation and coefficient of variability (CV) are calculated. The coefficient of variability is a dimensionless quantity defined as standard deviation divided by mean. Denoted as: CV% = (Standard deviation / Mean) * 100. In most studies duplicate sample analysis is preferred for the statistically ensured values it produces.
